Ever since mankind invented ways to cure his ailments, the world of medical science has achieved things which were once believed to be impossible. In the modern day world, clinical trials are a common phenomena with scientists working round the clock for new inventions.
The makers of Dr 56 have chosen such an aspect, unravelling some truth or call it medical mafia with a good amount of suspense and muder mystery wrapped around it for almost two hours for an entertaining experience.
Pharmaceutical companies often conduct clinical trials on animals and they are deemed fit to be used for humans if they succeed with the rigid experiments. What if such initial experiments are carried on humans! Sounds scary right. Yes, that`s what Dr. 56 explores in this well crafted suspense thriller.
With regard to the story, Arjun played by Praveen is suffering from a unique disease for which he is taking a pill every 56 minutes. On the other hand the murder of two neurosurgeons gets murkier. This is when Priya Mani who plays the CBI investigation officer makes an entry to get to the roots of the crime.
Will Priya detects the crime even before the third person gets killed, is a tale of twists and turns. The impressive Praveen who plays the lead has also penned the story as well as written for the screen. Whereas director Anand has done a good job when it comes to showcasing the medical mafia including the research aspects and clinical trials to good effect on the screen.
Priya Mani as CBI officer is a treat to watch. Overall, the film which focuses on an important issue is an eye opener to the audience but comes with some engaging entertainment till the end. Do watch the mystery at a theatre near you.
